LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (LCSW)
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR (LPC)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Full or provisional Missouri licensure as a clinical social worker or professional counselor and one year of related experience. Knowledge of methods of counseling. Knowledge of community resources. Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately. Familiarity with the DSM IV-TR or its subsequent replacement and diagnostic techniques. A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in groups and public settings is essential. Must respect and maintain confidentiality of all aspects of client treatment. Must pass background check provided for the agency by the U.S. Department of Justice and Family Care Safety Registry which includes the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health, and Department of Health and Senior Services. Must not be on any “do not hire” list with the Department of Mental Health or the Missouri Division of Family Services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for providing evaluation/ treatment in the form of individual, marital, family, group therapy, as well as participating in evaluation, diagnosis, development of treatment plans for clients. Provide direct mental health clinical assessments and treatment. Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate skill in clinical interviewing, demonstrate skills in consultation, and the ability to work as part of a team. This job classification is covered under the agency’s Exposure Control Plan. Employees in this job classification may reasonably anticipate being occupationally exposed to infectious materials. This position requires knowledge in the field of substance abuse in a community based social learning theory based treatment.
